Hidden in a truck, eight migrants from various countries try to survive the hunger and anguish of a long illegal journey across borders. Their stories resonate and mingle into their bodies and minds with the stories of European emigrants of a century ago.
Laurent Van Lancker both studied Film and Anthropology, and holds a PhD in Audiovisual Art. He lectures at film schools and universities. His films were screened in major film festivals: IDFA, Oberhausen, DOKLeipzig, FNC Montréal, Dubai IFF, … and cinemas. Recently, he has also moved into Visual Arts, having his video installations screened in museums, galleries, art spaces. His films explore inter-cultural dialogue, and draw on various modes: Collaborative, Hybrid and Sensory cinema. They propose a dialogue between ethics and aesthetics, poetics and politics.
David Borgeaud and Erika Meda founded Roue Libre Production in 2014 with an aim to accompany and support directors in their artistic processes, with no restriction of genre or format. Over time, they started developing feature films, fictions and documentaries, as well as hybrids and experimental films. David serves at the head of industry relations at the FIFF Namur since 2018. He’s also an alumnus of the Rotterdam Lab and a reader for the Belgian French-speaking Film Fund.
