Investors Circle unites the world’s leading experts in film and media financing for a day filled with engaging discussions and exclusive film projects.

Launched in 2023, the Investors Circle represents the latest initiative of the Marché du Film.

Held at the prestigious Plage des Palmes, this one-day summit begins with an insightful keynote panel, featuring esteemed experts from the film financing world.

This is followed by an exclusive pitching session, strictly reserved for private investors. Thanks to a distinguished panel of experts, Investors Circle will proudly showcase a carefully curated selection of top-tier film projects that are actively seeking investment.

To cap off the summit, we will host an exclusive cocktail event, presenting a golden opportunity for the project creators and producers to interact with potential investors, who could provide substantial support for their projects.

📆 Investors Circle will be held on Sunday, 19 May on the Plage des Palmes.

The Marché du Film’s Investors Circle aims to highlight and support artistically ambitious film projects while providing essential financial backing. For the first time, we are selecting projects of the highest caliber to present to top-tier investors. In light of the current financial landscape and Cannes’ unique positioning, we believe it’s relevant to explore new opportunities for funding through private investment, and we hope this event will grow in the coming years.

— Guillaume Esmiol, Executive Director of the Marché du Film

The 2023 edition of the Marché du Film’s Investors Circle was a landmark event, uniting top experts from the film financing realm. The focus was on sharing diverse insights into the current and future trends of global financing and market dynamics.

The event commenced with an enlightening keynote by Liesl Copland (Executive Vice President of Content & Platform Strategy at Participant). This set the stage for a high-level panel discussion titled “Navigating Film Finance in a Changing World.” Expertly moderated by film festival consultant Wendy Mitchell, the panel featured insights from prominent industry figures including Elisa Alvares (Finance Expert at Jacaranda Consultants), Rikke Ennis (CEO of REinvent Studios), Emilie Georges (Co-Founder & CEO of Paradise City) and Mike Goodridge (Producer at Good Chaos)

A highlight of the Investors Circle was the exclusive pitching session, a privilege reserved for VIP private investors. Here, they were introduced to nine groundbreaking global film projects in the investment phase.

The projects, some boasting budgets up to 12 million Euros, were presented by an array of producers and directors, including past winners of prestigious awards such as the Palme d’Or and Golden Bear. The event concluded with private networking meetings and cocktails, fostering a conducive environment for in-depth dialogues and potential collaborations between investors and filmmakers. This segment of the program emphasized the Investors Circle’s commitment to facilitating meaningful connections and fostering a community spirit among the elite members of the Investors Circle.
