Synopsis:

Once a victim of child marriage, now became the protector for many girls, MUNNI, the founder of the all-girls Sports Academy, is curating future footballers and giving them the courage, hope, and aspiration to not only win a match but to save themselves from child marriage.

Director’s profile:

Tahrima Khan is a Filmmaker from Bangladesh and public health graduate from Tsinghua University, China. Her first documentary, COLOR OF WATER was funded by the British Council, and she was awarded as an International Climate Champion (ICC). Tahrima has worked i n several documentaries on the i ndigenous community of Bangladesh. Tahrima worked as casting director of JALAL’S STORY, Bangladesh entry to the Oscars i n 2015. Her two feature films as co-producer PAYER TOLAY MATI NAI and PATAL GHAR are i n post-production. Recently, Tahrima attended the Produire Au Sud workshop as a producer with a film project titled The CROWS. MUNNI is her first feature documentary in Dhaka Doc Lab 2020, selected by IEFTA’s showcasing award at DOK Leipzig. MUNNI also secured the DocEdge New Zealand pitching award.

Producer’s profile:

Abu Shahed Emon is a Psychology graduate from Dhaka University, pursued higher studies in Filmmaking in Australia (Sydney Film School-2009, RMIT University-2010) & South Korea (Korea National University of Arts-2016). His debut feature JALAL’S STORY traveled to more than 40 film festivals and received ten awards, and also was Bangladeshi Entry to the Oscars in 2015. His recently produced project titled SINCERELY YOURS, DHAKA brings 11 first-time short-filmmakers from Bangladesh, making it the First ever Bangladeshi anthology film project. The anthology had its world premiere at Busan International Film Festival, traveled to more than 40 international film festivals, and became the Bangladeshi Entry to the Oscars in 2020. Emon is currently busy producing around 10 feature films and developing his second feature A FOOLISH MAN.
