Synopsis:

In a small Sicilian town, the election of an honest mayor brings long-awaited law and order. However, the townspeople, used to bending the rules for personal gain, soon regret their choice. As they struggle with the inconveniences of true legality, they begin to question whether corruption was really that bad. A sharp, witty comedy that humorously explores the challenges of real change and civic responsibility.

Director’s biography:

Salvatore Ficarra, Valentino Picone are the authors and performers of some of the biggest successes of the Italian box office such as L’ora legale and Il primo Natale. Their most recent success La Stranezza, performed together with Toni Servillo and directed by Roberto Andò, was the highest grossing film of the Italian box office 2022 and winner of 4 David di Donatello. For Netflix they created and starred in the series Incastrati.

Producer’s biography:

Born on August 2, 1963, in Nardò (Lecce), Attilio De Razza has always been passionate about comedy. He produced numerous theater shows with top Italian comedians of the ’90s and 2000s and represented artists like Ficarra & Picone. Switching from theater to film, he co-produced Perez (2014) and the award-winning Indivisibili. His recent works include La Stranezza, Comandante, Il Primo Natale, Santo Cielo, and Spaccaossa.
