Synopsis: 

Gina was a Montenegrin girl who had become political prisoner in the 50’s in the ex Yugoslavia. The story follows Marina, Gina’s niece, on her way to the prison she is visiting for the second time – the first time as a baby seen in a photograph and now as an elderly lady. Together, we are bringing female side of the Yugoslavian camps, and questioning how many generations does it take to overcome a trauma.

Director’s profile: 

Sara Stijović (1997, Podgorica) holds a BA in FTV directing from the FDA Cetinje at the University of Montenegro. Now, she is specializing in Documentary film. Her short fiction and documentary films had been internationally awarded. She has taken part in several international campuses: Talent Campus of the 37th FIff, Tehran, Iran; Looking China Film Youth Project in Harbin, China… She is an Al Jazeera Ambassador. Her first feature film – Gina has been supported by Montenegrin film center, and is in development stage. She had won BEST PITCH for Documentary at the Balkan Film Market, Tirana. Gina has been selected for La Fabrique Cinéma de l’Institut français 2020, as the first ever Montenegrin, and this year’s only European, project to enter the program. She has been selected for CIRCLE – Women Doc Accelerator 2020. She is the Montenegrin female candidate for American Film Showcase.
