Synopsis:

Filmmaker Maja follows her partner Blaž, a leukaemia survivor who embarks on an extraordinary cycling journey to heal from traumatic experience. What should have been a heroic journey became a battle for their relationship. CENT’ANNI is a personal confession about impact of the illness on a relationship told from the perspective of caregiver.

Director’s profile:

Maja Doroteja Prelog (1988) is Ljubljana based film directress. Her short film WILD EAST (2012) was awarded at Festival of Slovenian Film for best student short. Since then she has been a member of an art group RÁ., where she directed music videos for a world-renowned art music group Laibach. She wrote, directed, and produced her short experimental film 2045 (2016) which received an award for the best of FeKK SLO at the Ljubljana short film festival FeKK 2016. CENT’ANNI is her debut.

Producer’s profile:

Rok Biček (1985) is head of the Slovenian production company Cvinger Film with a branch office in Austria. His feature directorial debut Class Enemy won the Fedeora Award at the Venice Critics’ Week in 2013, while the 2017 documentary The Family won the Grand Prix at the Locarno Critics’ Week. He produced Sara Kern´s short Good Luck Orlo which premiered at Venice in 2016 and co-produced Olmo Omerzu’s Winter Flies which won the Best Director award at Karlovy Vary in 2018 and Darko Stante’s Consequences which premiered at Toronto in 2018. Rok is now working on the film adaptation of the bestseller novel Dark Mother Earth as his third film as director.
