The Marché du Film and SCELF Reveal the 2026 Pitches Selection for Shoot the Book!

The Marché du Film and SCELF (the Association of French-Language Publishers) announce the 13th edition of Shoot The Book!, which will take place on 14 and 15 May 2026.

Since its creation, Shoot The Book! has established itself as a must-attend event at the Marché du Film for professionals in the publishing and audiovisual industries. Each year, literary works with strong adaptation potential are presented to producers seeking new projects, fostering synergies between these two creative industries.

A program dedicated to adaptations and IPs
Over two days, Shoot The Book! offers an extended program featuring:

  • Shoot the Book! Pitches, which will allow publishers to present IPs selected by a jury to an audience of international producers in the Palais des Festivals press conference room.
  • Shoot the Book! Rendez-Vous, designed to foster exchanges between publishers and producers regarding film adaptation projects.

This year, the program also includes two masterclasses focused on the international IP ecosystem:

  • A masterclass on literary adaptation markets in Spain, organized by the Institut français as part of Shoot the Book! Cannes, featuring a market overview and case studies of literary film adaptations presented by professionals in film and television production, financing, and promotion.
  • A masterclass, organized by the Marché du Film in partnership with TIFFCOM Tokyo and SCELF, will enrich this year’s Shoot the Book! program by shedding light on the dynamics of adapting manga and animated works in France and Japan, the Marché du Film’s 2026 Country of Honour.

Shoot the Book! 2026 Pitch Selection
The 2026 edition of Shoot the Book! stands out for its globally inclusive selection, bringing together authors from France, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Taiwan, and Mongolia.
