Cannes Docs Announces the 2026 Docs-in-Progress Selection

Cannes Docs reveals its 2026 Docs-in-Progress selection, presented in partnership with leading international institutions and organizations, offering industry professionals an exclusive opportunity to discover a new wave of documentary projects from around the world.

From 14 to 19 May, each of the Presenting Partners will present their selection of “docs-in-progress” in their final stages of post-production. Introduced by their creative teams through a pitch and a 10-minute excerpt of the rough cut, these projects are seeking post-production support, gap financing, strategic guidance, and/or potential co-production opportunities.

Designed for documentary professionals, festival programmers and sales agents, the showcases spotlight bold new voices and offer a dynamic platform to discover fresh titles and forge meaningful industry connections.

This year’s Docs-in-Progress program includes:

  • Canada Showcase, presented by Telefilm Canada and Forum RIDM
  • Scotland Showcase, presented by Screen Scotland and Scottish Documentary Institute
  • The Five Nordics Showcase, presented by The Five Nordics
  • Docs by the Sea Showcase, presented by Docs by the Sea
  • Palestine Showcase, presented by Palestine Film Institute
  • Spain Showcase, presented by ICEX, ICAA and ZINEBI
  • Chile-Colombia Showcase, presented by Chiledoc and Proimágenes Colombia
  • CIRCLE Showcase, presented by CIRCLE Doc Accelerator

A distinguished jury of three leading industry voices — Themba Bhebhe, Fujioka Asako, and Paulina Portela — will help spotlight the most promising projects and select this year’s winners across up to ten awards, presented during the Docs-in-Progress Awards Ceremony on Doc Day (19 May).
