FAQ

✓ First time in Cannes

The Marché du Film and the Festival de Cannes

What’s the difference between the Marché du Film and the Festival de Cannes?

  • On one hand, the Festival de Cannes is one of the world’s major film festivals. It brings together the artistic and commercial dimensions of cinema by promoting cinematographic and professional exchanges.
  • On the other hand, the Marché du Film takes place in tandem with the Festival and is the most important meeting place for film professionals who come from all over the world to buy and sell film rights, find co-producers, and network. The Marché du Film fosters exchanges and gives visibility to participants by offering a wide range of services such as meetings, exhibition spaces, and screenings.

✓ Accreditation process, badges and access

    In Cannes

Registering directly in Cannes is possible.

You must provide the same documents required for the online accreditation. Those documents must prove the activity of your company and the fact that you work for it (anything that enables our accreditation department to check the legitimacy of your company in the cinema industry).

You will have to present an ID card in order to retrieve your badge.

Unfortunately, you cannot book a booth if you register on the spot in Cannes.

    Day Pass

If you plan to stay in Cannes only to attend a few meetings, you can request a day pass for a maximum of 3 days. It will give you access to all the Marché du Film booths but not to screenings. Only few official publications will be delivered to you.

The cost is € 60 per day per person. This pass is available at the Gare Maritime outside the Palais des Festivals.

    Access conditions

As long as you are registered to the Marché du Film, Producers Network, and/or the Cannes Workshops, you will have the same privileges as those accredited to the Festival, which includes accreditation to the Festival de Cannes and the screenings there (exceptions for these include the press screening and the screening for the Official Selection at the Grand Théatre Lumière).

On the other hand, only those accredited to the Producers Network and Cannes Workshops will be able to access events linked to these programs.

You will need to bring your badge for the entire duration of the Marché du Film, inside the Festival area, as well as to access all the screening rooms at the Marché du Film (Palais, Riviera, Lérins, and the Village International).

Please understand that your badge will feature your full name and that you can’t lend it to anyone else.

In the case where a participant cancels his/her trip to Cannes, the amount paid for registration will not be refunded and will still be due to the Marché as compensation.

    Lost/stolen badge

If you lose your badge or if it gets stolen, you have to immediately register a complaint with the Police and present a copy of the complaint to the registration desk in order to receive a new one.

There will be a € 50 fee for your new badge.

Marché du Film accessible for all - people with disabilities
