🏆 Ventana Sur’s Copia Final Projects Garner Prestigious Prizes at Berlinale

Ventana Sur — the Buenos Aires-based audiovisual market co-organized by the Marché du Film and INCAA (National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts) — is proud to announce that two projects from its previous Copia Final section have been honored with prestigious awards at this year's Berlinale.

The heartfelt drama Memories of a Burning Body by Antonella Sudasassi, which explores the sexuality of three women in their later years, has won the Panorama Audience Award. Meanwhile, the Berlinale’s Silver Bear for Best Director was awarded to Nelson Carlos De Los Santos Arias for Pepe, a riveting tale of a young hippopotamus killed in the Colombian jungles.

Both titles were among six projects showcased at last year’s Copia Final, a Ventana Sur initiative designed to promote Latin American fiction films in the post-production phase.

The recognition of these projects at Berlinale underscores Ventana Sur’s commitment to fostering and establishing the careers of rising Latin American talents.

We extend our hearty congratulations to the gifted filmmakers Nelson Carlos De Los Santos Arias and Antonella Sudasassi, along with their respective teams, on their remarkable success.
