🔮 The Marché du Film & Sitges Film Festival Announce Fantastic 7’s 2023 Lineup and Álex de la Iglesia as Godfather

7 film festivals will present their selection of 7 fantastic projects in Cannes on 21 May at the Marché du Film.

Organized by Sitges Film Festival and the Marché du Film, Fantastic 7 is designed to foster emerging filmmakers and connect them with potential business partners in Cannes to secure funding and co-production opportunities.

Each year, 7 fantastic film festivalsdedicated to, or with strong traditions of, highlighting genre cinema and talents – select seven genre film projects to be showcased at the Marché du FilmThese projects will be presented and pitched by the filmmakers in front of an audience of investors, distributors or sales agents, aiming to get their projects off the ground and in front of wider audiences.

By bringing together new genre works from all parts of the world, Fantastic 7 sheds light on new trends and influences in genre cinema, all while demonstrating the power of creativity and cultural expression. This year’s selection makes no exception and the audiences will truly see it all – from mind-controlling bugs and mermaids in hiding to war refugees and a social media-crazed televangelist!

Spanish film director Álex de la Iglesia – who is known for his many horror films and dark comedies – has been officially named “godfather” of this year’s Fantastic 7 event.
