📈 2023 Marché du Film Breaks Historic Record with Over 13,500 Participants Expected to Attend

The Marché du Film, the biggest international gathering of the film industry, is expected to make a history-breaking record this year.

With registration still ongoing, the event is expected to welcome 13,500 accredited participants from more than 120 countries, beating the previous record of 12,500 onsite participants in 2019.

The 2023 edition of the Marché du Film will feature more than 510 exhibitors onsite, including 60 pavilions in the iconic Village International and more than 300 exhibiting companies doing business inside the Palais des Festivals. Additionally, there will be 1,200 market screenings available (1,500 in total including the Festival and side sections).

More than 200 industry events, such as works-in-progress showcases, pitching sessions, masterclasses, and workshops, will take place during the market event, including over 60 conferences — its biggest lineup yet — welcoming the industry’s most visionary, innovative, and impactful leaders.

The most represented countries in the 2023 edition so far are the United States, France, United Kingdom, Germany and Italy, with Spain — the Marché du Film’s 2023 Country of Honour — seeing a 28% increase in Spanish participants since last year. There is also a welcome return of Asian and Australian participants, who are returning in bigger numbers.

We are absolutely thrilled to see such a high level of interest and participation from all over the world,” said the new Executive Director of the Marché, Guillaume Esmiol. “This year’s record-breaking figures are a testament to the trust put forth by the industry, as well as the hard work and dedication of the Marché & Festival team. Cannes truly is the heart of the film industry.

The Marché du Film is running from 16 to 24 May with the Festival concluding its activities on 27 May.
