Director’s profile:

Amanda Rutllant is a Chilean/Brazilian Documentary Filmmaker and Master in Sociology, passionate for digital and new narrative aproches as well as found footage and home movies. She has worked for the United Nations and International Think Tanks as a consultant in narrative analysis. She started her career in documentary filmmaking in 2014 with her short film Of the 90’s and something, selected to the 10th version of the Rengo International Film Festival. She has directed and produced several short documentary films and has been AD in viral contents for social media. In 2019 she was executive director of the digital platform OpinaDocs, showcasing new chilean short documentarty film talents. She currently works in her own production company/digital marketing agency. Asteroid 2518 is her first feature film.

Constanza Luzoro has a degree in Audiovisual Communication with a mention in Scripts for Film and Television. After working for five years at the Santiago International Film Festival, SANFIC, she worked as an assistant director in several national productions. After, she begins to dedicate herself exclusively to audiovisual production, writing and collaborating in scripts such as the short film A history of two women by Max Sotomayor, the winning documentary of InEdit 2019 Something is happening produced by Red Bull and directed by Tomás Alzamora, the children’s animation series Guitarra y Tambor (PUNKROBOT; HYPPE), and Dream in (STOON). In 2018 she teamed up with Kike Ortega to found the audiovisual content platform PATAKA, where she currently produces the 2D animation series Outlandish, winner of Corfo Series 2018, and developed the Stop Motion webseries Pajarones.

Synopsis:

Women in prison reconstruct their experience of motherhood through videos and photographs captured with their forbidden cell phones while serving their sentences. Malqueridas offers a reflection on the severity of motherhood when faced with confinement and the loss of affections.

Director’s profile:

Filmmaker from the University of Chile, with a master’s degree in Documentary Filmmaking at the same university. Her first short film, Rest, Zulema was produced during her second year in film school, and was awarded and screened in several national and international festivals (Best documentary short film Femcine 2013). Her last short film I’m still here was released at Hot Docs 2017 and participated in 25 international IFF, and received several awards such as: Best Short Film at Cine Las Americas (United States), Jury Award at MiradasDoc (Spain), among others. Professor of documentary courses at University of Chile and Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She is developing her career with an interest in social gender issues.

Filmmaker graduated from the EICTV in Cuba. She has been a speaker on documentary filmmaking for several Chilean institutions and Latin American seminars. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Since 2020 and co-founder of CCDOC / Chiledoc, a non-profit organization that has made an impact on the national and international visibility of Chilean documentaries. Among her productions, the Chilean-Brazilian co production Haydee and the Flying Fish, directed by Pachi Bustos, acknowledged in Hot Docs, DocsMx and others festivals; the Canadian-Chilean co-production Cielo, directed by Alison McAlpine, selected in New York Film Festival and Karlovy Vary; Beyond my Grandfather Allende, by Marcia Tambutti Allende, Best Documentary Film at Cannes 2015, among others films. Synopsis:

A film which portrays the radical transformation of the territory of Araucanía at the end of the 19th through the eyes of a young foreigner, Gustave Verniory. The film draws a sensitive cinematic space, playing with and creating a dialogue between past and contemporary. It is a path that meanders between human and geographic landscapes, in order to reveal the deep essence of the Araucanía territory.

Director’s profile:

Ignacio Agüero is a film director, mainly documentary films. He is a titular professor at the University of Chile and has taught film there for the last fifteen years. He was Director of the Master’s program in documentary filmmaking between 2012 and 2017. He has been an actor in numerous films. He has won numerous awards for his films, the latest of which is the Grand Prix at the FID Marseille in 2019, and the Prince Claus Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015. Two books have been published on his work, “El cine de Ignacio Agüero”, by authors Catalina donoso and Valeria de los Ríos, and “Dos o tres cosas que sabemos de él”, by several contributors coordinated by Eva Sangiorgi and Camila Donoso, edited by Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Retrospectives of his films have been held in Barcelona, Mexico City, La Paz, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Lima, Paris, Biarritz, Trieste, Chile.

Amalric de Pontcharra is a french producer living in Santiago de Chile since november 2006. In Chile, he has been asociate producer of Ignacio Agüero’s El Diario de Agustín (Agustin Newspaper), El otro día (The other day), Como me da la gana II (This is the way I like it II) and Notas para una película (Notes for a film). Amalric de Pontcharra is funding member of Les Producteurs Indépendants Associés (Paris): As a Producer of this group he executive produced more than 100 hours of documentary features between 2000 and 2007 for Arte.

Francisco Hervé is a film director, screenwriter and producer. He has developed feature films such as El Poder de la Palabra, Hija, Los Castores, La Ciudad Perdida, among others, all of them premiered at the most important festivals in the world, obtaining awards such as the Altazor, Pudú, Paoa and the Pedro Sienna. His most recent premiere, as producer and co-writer, was the feature film El Otro winner in the Burning Lights category at the Vision Du Reel festival, Switzerland – and has accumulated more than 10 international awards -. He is currently preparing the premiere of Immersion, by Nicolás Postiglione, a film in which he is a producer, and new projects for film and television. He is part of the international network of Eurodoc producers, and is a professor at the University of Chile and the Catholic University of Chile.
