Director’s biography:
After graduating in editing from La Fémis, Antony Cordier began his career with the documentary Beau comme un camion, which won an award at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival in 2000. This first film offers an intimate look at his working-class roots, a theme he would regularly explore in his cinema. Early on, he demonstrated a social sensitivity and a distinct visual style, influenced by his studies and personal history. Passionate about human storytelling, he quickly turned to fiction. His first feature-length fiction film, Douches froides, was released in 2005 and selected for the Directors Fortnight at Cannes. It went on to win awards at several international festivals (Louis-Delluc, Taipei, Verona, etc.). In 2010, he directed Happy Few, a bold dramatic comedy that delves into the complexities of desire within two couples. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival and featured Élodie Bouchez, Marina Foïs, Roschdy Zem, and Nicolas Duvauchelle. In 2017, Antony directed Gaspard at the wedding, a quirky comedy about unconventional family dynamics. He then worked on directing several episodes of OVNI(s). In 2025, the filmmaker returned to the Croisette with The Party’s Over!, which had its world premiere at the Directors Fortnight. The film, starring Laurent Lafitte, Élodie Bouchez, Ramzy Bedia, Laure Calamy, and Sami Outalbali, depicts a class conflict between a bourgeois family and their staff.
