British Film Institute (BFI)
The BFI is the UK’s lead organisation for film and the moving image. With a mission to support creativity and actively seek out the next generation of UK storytellers and to grow and care for the BFI National Archive, the BFI was founded in 1933, and is a registered charity governed by Royal Charter.
Expert | Rico Johnson-Sinclair (Race Equality Lead at British Film Institute)
Rico Johnson-Sinclair is working to bring critical perspectives into conversations about race in the film industry and working intersectionality to develop work around class, disability and gender.
Created in 2013, analyses all phases of production and works to concretely implement proactive measures of impact reduction for each department and activity. These measures are tailored to each production’s needs and logistically carried out with the help of an experienced EcoMuvi manager.
Expert | Ludovica Chiarini (CEO of EcoMuvi)
Ludovica Chiarini has been working as a sustainability manager on film sets for several years, while researching and fostering the implementation of sustainable practices, tech and policies among film institutions and the industry. Consolidating her path as CEO for EcoMuvi, she is responsible for the protocol’s most recent upgrade and application on various features and audiovisual projects.
European Women’s Audiovisual Network (EWA)
EWA Network connects female professionals working in the screen industries, in Europe and beyond. It champions gender equality, pay parity and inclusion in the screen sector, for all women, from all backgrounds. The diverse and growing membership allows the network to ground its campaigning work in the real-world concerns of women creating original content for cinemas, broadcasters and streaming platforms.
Expert | Maria Ekerhovd (Producer)
Maria Ekerhovd founded Mer Film in 2011. Her last productions include THE INNOCENTS by Eskil Vogt, which premiered in Un Certain Regard in 2021.The same year, Maria Ekerhovd was awarded the Eurimage Co- production Award. In 2022 Mer Film released WAR SAILOR by Gunnar Vikene which has been a big box office success and that is releasing worldwide on Netflix 2n of April 2023.
Expert | Jonas Dornbach (Producer & Managing Director of Komplizen)
Jonas Dornbach grew up in Perugia, Italy. He has been a permanent producer at Komplizen Film since 2010 as well as a partner and managing director since 2014. Among many other films, he produced “”Toni Erdmann”” by Maren Ade, “”Western”” by Valeska Grisebach and “Spencer” by Pablo Larrain. Jonas Dornbach is a member of the ACE and EAVE networks as well as the German.
MEDICI is an annual vocational training and exchange forum proposed by FOCAL and tailor made for senior decision makers of international public film funds. The workshops offer content tailored to the specific needs of public film funding, which is presented by highly skilled experts of the audiovisual industry. For 2.5 days, the participating film funders discuss pressing issues and reassess the existing funding schemes. MEDICI offers the temporal and secure framework for in-depth discussions and free-flow exchange.

As international strategy consultant Tamara comes with deep industry insight, combining a thorough knowledge of film funding and promotion policies with a profound understanding of international training and film curation.As Head of Studies, she leads the annual vocation training designed exclusively for international public financiers – MEDICI the Film Journey proposed by FOCAL. As an institutional leader, Tamara worked as Director of the Georgian National Film Center. Her producing experience includes award winning Hostages by Rezo Gigineishvili (Berlinale in 2014). Tamara was awarded the French Distinction of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettre.
