🔮 Announcing Fantastic 7’s 2025 Lineup and Pablo Berger as the Fantastic Godfather

Fantastic 7 returns to Cannes for its 7th year to welcome 7 fantastic film festivals and a fresh new lineup of 7 fantastic projects.

Organized by Sitges Film Festival and the Marché du Film, Fantastic 7 is an event celebrating genre-bending films from around the world and designed to connect emerging filmmakers with potential business partners for co-production opportunities.

Each year, 7 fantastic film festivals  recognized for their commitment to support groundbreaking genre films and fostering emerging talents – select 7 genre film projects to be showcased at the Marché du Film. On 18 May, the filmmakers – seeking to get their films off the ground and in front of wider audiences – will pitch their projects to investors, distributors, and sales agents.

This year, we’re to continuing the program’s tradition and welcoming Pablo Berger — the Spanish visionary behind Blancanieves and the Oscar-nominated Robot Dreams — as our Fantastic Godfather. With a film career blending black comedy, magical realism and genre-bending brilliance, Pablo perfectly embodies the spirit of Fantastic 7: bold stories, imaginative worlds, and unforgettable heroes.

By bringing together new genre works from all parts of the world, Fantastic 7 sheds light on new trends and influences in genre cinema, all while demonstrating the power of creativity and cultural expression. This year’s selection makes no exception and the audiences will truly see it all – from a mystical cursed island and possessed children to secret medical experiments and a demon-inhabited misteltoe!
