VeeR Future Award 2021

VeeR Future Award launching!

VeeR, a leading global VR content platform, invites artists worldwide to submit works for competition at VeeR VR Cinema at Cannes XR this year.

As a cornerstone of Cannes XR, VeeR VR Cinema will feature a selection of the most immersive, compelling and innovative VR works to celebrate each creator’s achievements in VR storytelling.

This year, VeeR VR Cinema has expanded from 360 films to both 3DOF and 6DOF VR experiences.

The selected VR works will be shown during the Cannes XR virtual showcase on the XR3 platform and will also be presented in offline showcases in China (thanks to our contributing partner VeeR). The showcases are aimed to introduce VR projects and teams to more investors, media and audiences.

Two winners will be presented with the VeeR Future Award for Best VR Story and Best VR Interactive Experience, and will each be awarded with 1000 USD and a Premium Distribution Package.

The selection will be available through the MOR platform and the VeeR App from 6 to 17 July.

Produced by: Lana Tankosa Nikolic (Late Love Production)

Original title: The Hangman at Home

“What does the hangman think about when he goes home at night from work?”
Inspired by the iconic Carl Sandburg poem (1922), this VR single-user immersive experience explores themes of acknowledgement and participation. It is not about hanging people, but about the awkward intimacy that comes with being human, and the connection between spectator, witness, and accomplice. The animated, interactive experience invites you into five interwoven stories, capturing pivotal moments in people’s lives. The Hangman at Home – VR ultimately reveals that we are all more alike than different, while raising questions of responsibility.
