Synopsis:

In the midst of the cultural explosion of the 70s, bouncing between the States and Italy, this is the journey of a young American hippie who becomes a basketball champion, an unforgotten icon, under the towers of Bologna, behind whose shadow the vices that will condemn him to an epic fail and a perennial redemption are hidden. A mindful awakening to the constant search of internal balance.

Director’s profile:

Born in 1975 in Turin Italy. In 2008 he completed a Masters in post-production and strengthened his skill set with a dynamic range of courses pertaining to the ever evolving field of film. He began as a camera operator and editor for national television shows and corporate videos; in 2014 he moved to Los Angeles where he worked as an Assistant Editor with the crew of THE DEFIANT ONES, an Emmy-winning HBO show. He continued his international career in Sweden with SVT as lead editor and eventually began teaching editing. In 2017 he made his first documentary, AUXILIUM: THE FAITH CONTINUES, with the support of the Torino Piemonte Film Commission. In 2019 he started directing DEAR COCHISE, a co-production between Italy (Cinefonie) and the United States (KP’s Remain), supported by MIBACT, Emilia Romagna’s Film Commission as well as the Film Commission of Torino Piemonte.

Producer’s profile:

I was inspired to become a producer in between sets for cinema, television and various independent, pirate-like audiovisual production and i have always combined a passion for moving images with a deep curiosity for life. I’m passionate about films, new media and entrepreneurship, and interested in finding new and creative forms of production all the way from new media, to traditional production. I have directed and produced several short films, among others the award-winning AIDA, HERD, CUPIDS, and APARTMENT 15, as well as project of every form and category. Currently I am the vice-president of Cinefonie, where among other things I worked as the executive producer for the fiction reenactment of the Mediaset program “Il Terzo Indizio”, broadcast in prime time on Rete 4. DEAR COCHISE is my first documentary feature film as producer and a key project for our company.

Synopsis:

Leti and Matteo are members of the Kiki house of Savoia. Their dream is to perform in the ballroom culture’s Mecca: Paris. As for now, they struggle with their daily life in Torino’s suburbs. Matteo wants to enter the gay porn world. Leti delivers pizzas while thinking about her next psychology exam. Savoia tells the story of an indentity reappropriation in which the performative art becomes political.

Director’s profile:

Dunja Lavecchia was born in Matera in 1987. During her studies in Communication and Media Culture she developed a passion for photography and cinema. Beatrice Surano was born in Turin in 1989. After graduating in Sociology, she started working as a researcher and then began her career as a social documentaries filmmaker. Morena Terranova was born in Turin in 1989. During her student years she has developed a deep interest in gender and sexually related themes. She now works as a documentaries editor and in the post production department. She has worked with Italian directors such as Susanna Nicchiarelli, Gianluca and Massimiliano De Serio and Enrico Masi. Dunjia, Beatrice and Morena are the founders of elvira, an all-women collective specialized in social documentaries and education.

Producer’s profile:

Stefano Cravero and Enrico Bisi first met during their university years in Turin, then they followed different paths. Stefano moved to Rome and graduated at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, then he became a well-known editor in Italian movies (nominated for best editing at David di Donatello for NICO, 1988 by Susanna Nicchiarelli). Enrico became a director of documentaries (PINK GANG, NUMERO ZERO) and a cinema professor. After having met again in Turin, they established their own production company Base Zero in 2018. SAVOIA, together with the documentary series NUMERO UNO, is their first project as producers.

Synopsis:

The Siege is a journey into the ritual that every year comes to life with the arrival of the Italian Grand Prix of the MotoGp. Nobody matters about the race: behind high barriers 150.000 spectators gather to live a crazy experience and feel free, exaggerating for one night in a place where there are no rules. An adventure into an extraordinary world and what therefore happens outside, in the ordinary one.

Director’s profile:

Marta Innocenti is an Italian director. In 2017 she shot her first independent short film LA TRASFERTA (2017, 23″). In 2018 she graduated in Cinema at the University of Bologna. Since 2018 she lives in Milan and here she graduates as Filmmaker at the Scuola di Cinema Civica with the co-directed production of the short film PIAZZALE EUROPA (2020, 30″), selected in the Prospettive competition at Filmmaker Festival 2020. Her first documentary L’ASSEDIO (2021, 52″), produced by Echivisivi with the support of Toscana Film Commission and Programma Sensi Contemporanei MIBACT is being post-produced. Her first film MADEMOISELLE is in development, selected within Alpi Film Lab (a program of TorinoFilmLab, Annecy Cinéma Italien, Museo Nazionale del Cinema di Torino, Bonlieu Scène Nationale Annecy) and the InProgress MFN 2021 program (Milano Film Newtork).

Producer’s profile:

Passionate about cinema and literature. He graduated with Honors in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and in 2017 in Modern Literature. He graduated in Filmmaking at Rosebud International Film School in Rome in 2011 and he attended a Program in Screenwriting in New York Film Academy in 2014. 12 years experience in writing and direction techniques and processes production. In 2010 he directed his first feature movie, The way back home. In 2011 he started an Independent Production Company, called ECHIVISIVI. Between 2012 and 2017 he produced and directed 4 movies documentaries and he produced ACCORDING TO TABUCCHI, by Diego Perucci. Since 2017 he’s part of the Board of f International Popoli Festival. He recently directed his second feature movie GLASSBOY, an international co-production with Solaria Film, Peacock Film and Wildart Film.

Synopsis:

A location scouting in the silence of the Ventimiglia border, between Italy and France, becomes a fantastic fairy tale, told by a choir of frogs, in which a scientist experiences a rejuvenation treatment with monkey testicles. Doctor Voronoff did exist, in the 1920s his fame was worldwide. His villa is situated above the border that migrants try to cross – silently – as if they should not exist.

Founder and CEO of Graffiti Doc, established in Torino in 2004, and more recently co-founder of Tag Film, set up in Paris in 2019, ENRICA CAPRA has produced and coproduced award-winning documentaries for the international market, both for TV and for theatrical release, selected at international festivals, and distributed all over the world.
Among her latest productions, ONE MORE JUMP by Emanuele Gerosa was recipient of the Prix Europa 2020 for Best Documentary, and winner of three awards at PriMed 2020, after being selected at Festa del Cinema of Rome, Festival dei Popoli and Visions du Réel, and awarded at international festivals.
Among her past productions, DUST. THE GREAT ASBESTOS TRIAL (2011), THY FATHER’S CHAIR (2015), ANOTHER ME (2016) and COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN (2018) all selected and awarded at prestigious international festivals.
