In collaboration with the San Sebastián International Film Festival, the Marché du Film is bringing its Unlocking Capital initiative to San Sebastián with a new executive lab for investors, taking place from 21 to 23 September 2026.
An extension of the Marché du Film’s Investors Circle program, the new lab will be held in parallel with, and in close collaboration with, San Sebastián’s Creative Investors’ Conference.
Following two successful producer-focused editions of Unlocking Capital at When East Meets West (WEMW) in Trieste, the initiative now turns its focus to investors in San Sebastián. The new lab marks another step in the Marché du Film’s year-round commitment to bringing its expertise and network beyond Cannes and strengthening the foundations for independent film financing.
Through a dedicated program of sessions, expert insights and industry exchanges, participants will deepen their understanding of the independent film business and gain new perspectives on investing in ambitious, auteur-driven cinema.
This year’s lab brings together an outstanding group of experts, including Jean des Forêts (Producer, Petit Film), Cécile Gaget (CEO, Carrousel Studios), Adele Romanski (Academy Award-winning Producer, Moonlight; Co-Founder, Pastel) and Benjamin Giniez (Partner, 111 Avocats).
The Investors Circle program is organized by the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes with the support of Creative Europe MEDIA.
