Synopsis:

Hussein is the last projectionist of the old cinema in Jenin, which is renovated by a German NGO. He desperately tries to convince them of his skills hoping to get his old job back. But his handicraft knowledge, and passion for cinema might not be enough, as times have changed.

Director’s profile:

Alex Bakri was born in 1978 in the Palestinian village Beane in the Galilee/ Israel, and studied Cinema and Media in the „College of Technology and Media Instruction“ in Tel-Aviv.
Since then he was working in nearly all departments of film making in including acting in diverse cinema films (a.o. THE TIME THAT REMAINS 2009 by Elia Suleiman). Since 2007 he directed several short films (f. ex. AJAMEYOUN 2007) and video installations, and worked as a DOP (a.o CINEMA JENIN 2011 by Marcus Vetter).
As a film editor he worked on short films and Video Art productions, and then for the Palestinian TV Ramallah. Since 2013 he is working as a freelancer for German Film- and TV productions. He edited various documentaries, such as TASTE OF CEMENT by Ziad Kalthoum, OF FATHERS AND SONS by Talal Derki.

Odeh is a director and producer best known for 200 METERS (2020), THE PRESENT (2020), MARADONA’S LEGS (2019), THE CROSSING (2017), DIARIES (2011), ROSHMIA “2014”, IZRIQAQ (2013. She is the founder of ODEH FILMS; a production company aiming to produce and distribute creative documentary and fiction films.
THOMAS KASKE (KASKE FILM / GERMANY)
Thomas Kaske was born in East Germany. He lived in Nairobi and studied visual anthropology and media arts. After producing experimental short films as a director, which toured many international festivals, Thomas started to work as a junior producer for documentary productions. He founded Kaske Film in 2015 to build a platform to produce new and alternative narratives.
