Estonian Film Institute
Thursday May 18 - 9:00 am to 11:00 am Plage des Palmes

Estonian Film Institute (EFI) is a national foundation, financed mainly by the Ministry of Culture. The institute is broadly divided in three departments: development and marketing, production, and heritage. The main incentive of the Estonian Film Institute today – to evolve with time and make Estonian film more visible and competitive on the international arena. EFI opened a cash rebate incentive in 2016 to encourage better cooperation between local and foreign producers to shoot films in Estonia.

Films from Rio
Friday May 19 - 9:00 am to 11:00 am Plage des Palmes

In a unique joint venture in Brazilian film industry, some of Brazil’s major cultural, industry and training agencies came together to create Films from Rio. The program, in its third edition, has taken six projects and their producers to the most important film markets in the world. The Marché du Film in Cannes will be their final stop, after having attended and worked at RioMarket/ Rio de Janeiro IFF and then at Ventana Sur in Buenos Aires. The projects and their producers have been getting guidance and coaching from int’l market specialists throughout the entire program. It is a unique opportunity to show the world the best and most promising of Rio de Janeiro’s screenplays and projects.

Netherlands Film Fund

The Netherlands Film Fund is the national agency responsible for supporting film production and film related activities in the Netherlands. Its focus is to develop and strengthen Dutch cinema and film culture both domestically and internationally. The Film Fund offers various selective support schemes on production and distribution for minority Dutch co-productions. It also runs the Film Production Incentive, offering a 30% cash rebate on production costs spent in the Netherlands and oversees the activities of the Netherlands Film Commission.

Israel Film Fund

The Israel Film Fund was established in 1979 with the aim of supporting the production of Israeli Feature films. The Fund’s goal is to enable the best stories and scripts to be produced and to create the conditions for Israeli Filmmakers to bring their vision and talent to the Screen. The Fund's responsibility is to facilitate the development, production, co-production, marketing, promotion and distribution of full length Israeli Feature Films in Israel and worldwide.

Telefilm Canada

Telefilm Canada—Inspired by talent. Viewed everywhere. Celebrating 50 years in 2017, Telefilm is dedicated to the cultural, commercial and industrial success of Canada’s audiovisual industry. Through funding and promotion programs, Telefilm supports dynamic companies and creative talent at home and around the world. Telefilm also makes recommendations regarding the certification of audiovisual treaty coproductions to the Minister of Canadian Heritage, and administers the programs of the Canada Media Fund. CinemaChile is the public-private agency responsible for the promotion and diffusion of Chilean cinema and audiovisual production in the world.

Polish Film Institute
Wednesday May 24 - 9:00 am to 11:00 am Plages des Palmes

The Polish Film Institute is a funding body which supports film industry at all stages of film production with particular attention paid to international co-productions and promotes Polish films to potential audiences in Poland and abroad.

Dubai Film Market

The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) is as an influential platform for Arab filmmakers and champions cinematic achievements. The festival presents new and exciting films from the Arab world and beyond; introducing audiences to original and distinctive voices. DIFF has established itself as a major international festival, serving as the premier showcase for Arab cinema and has been instrumental in the growth of the regional industry. The 14th edition runs from 6 to 13 December, 2017.

The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) is the largest and oldest not-for-profit dedicated to independent film. IFP champions the future of storytelling by connecting artists with essential resources at all stages of development and distribution. It offers support through year-round programming, which includes Filmmaker Magazine, Independent Film Week, the Gotham Awards, and the Independent Filmmaker Labs.

New Nordic Films, Nordic Film Market & Scandinavian Locations

Scandinavian Locations is a network of Nordic Film Commissions to promote Scandinavia as a creative destination for film and TV. Nordic Film Market at Göteborg Film Festival and New Nordic Films at The Norwegian Int. Film Festival in Haugesund are two markets aiming to strengthen the position of Nordic films worldwide. ScriptEast
Tuesday May 23 - 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Producers Club – Pantiero-side, Pavillon 227

ScripTeast is a Creative Europe supported training program for best scriptwriters from Eastern Europe. Writers work with advice of prominent cinema industry figures from all over the world. Each edition, composed of three stationary (Poland, Berlinale, Cannes Film Festival) and two online sessions, ends at the Festival de Cannes where the Krzysztof Kieslowski ScripTeast Award for the Best Eastern European Script is announced.

KATHI BILDHAUER
Berlinale Co-Production Market GERMANY

Kathi Bildhauer is one of the founding members of the Berlinale Co-Production Market and its co-head since 2016. She is also a long-term member of the Berlinale Talents team where she is responsible for the Talent Project Market. In addition, she worked for the World Cinema Fund and has been the project coordinator of the Berlinale Residency. Before joining the Berlin International Film Festival, she worked in various positions in film and TV production and published her PhD thesis on screenplay analysis.

MARTINA BLEIS
Berlinale Co-Production Market GERMANY

Martina Bleis is co-head and project curator of the Berlinale Co-Production Market. In addition to her MA in Cultural Studies, she graduated from the EAVE Producers Workshop. She has worked for the Berlinale since 2001, is one of the founding members of the Berlinale Co-Production Market and has been its co-head since 2016. In addition to her work at the Berlinale, she consults as a curatorial advisor and mentor for international training and co-production initiatives.

CATHERINE BURESI

Catherine Buresi has been working for more than 20 years in the European and international film industry with a focus on festivals, markets and co-production. She has been amongst others Co-Director of the European Film Market (Berlinale Film Festival) and CEO at EAVE, a professional training program targeting European producers and related professionals. She regularly collaborates in different markets (MIP TV, MIP COM, Cannes Producers network, Berlinale Film market…)

Jovan Marjanović
CINELINK – SARAJEVO FILM FESTIVAL BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA

Jovan Marjanović has been involved in the Sarajevo Film Festival since 1999. He is now on the festival’s Executive Board as Head of Industry. Marjanović is a producer and consults for several international film institutions. He headed the Bosnian Film Fund from 2014 to 2016 and serves as the National Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Eurimages since 2006. He holds an MSc from the Cass Business School in London, and teaches Film Business at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo.

AMRA BAKŠIĆ ČAMO
CINELINK – SARAJEVO FILM FESTIVAL BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA

Amra Bakšić Čamo is one of the founders of SCCA/pro.ba, independent film, video and new media production from Sarajevo. She has produced numerous awarded short films and art videos, documentaries, TV programs and feature films. An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker by Danis Tanovic won the Jury Grand Prix and Silver Bear for Best Actor at Berlinale 2013. Death in Sarajevo won Jury Grand Prix at Berlinale 2016. For 15 years, she is a Head of CineLink at Sarajevo Film Festival. Amra is a member of the ACE, EFA and EAVE networks; she works at the Academy of Preforming Arts in Sarajevo as a lecturer.

MARIT VAN DEN ELSHOUT
CINEMART - International Film Festival Rotterdam NETHERLANDS

Marit van den Elshout is part of IFFR since 2008 and heads IFFR PRO. She manages Hubert Bals Fund, CineMart, Rotterdam Lab and the industry programme. Marit acted and acts on several selection committees, including the Rotterdam Media Fund, Netherlands Film Fund and the Dutch Cultural Media Fund. She is an EAVE 2009 graduate, has served on juries for project markets & festivals and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Jerusalem Filmlab and a member of the European Film Academy. Besides IFFR, she was industry liaison for the Melbourne IFF and has worked as an advisor and liaison on the development of Durban FilmMart.

INKE VAN LOOCKE
CINEMART - International Film Festival Rotterdam NETHERLANDS

While studying Film and Television at the University of Utrecht, Inke Van Loocke started working for IFFR in various departments. Since 2011, she has been working for CineMart, the co-production market of IFFR. Since 2015, she coordinates CineMart and manages Rotterdam Lab and is responsible for various IFFR PRO-related events. Inke is part of the selection committee of the Hubert Bals Fund and has served on several juries for international markets and festivals.

EDUARDO PANIZZO

Eduardo Panizzo is the co-founder of Coffee & Cigarettes, a unique company acting as a producers rep, boutique marketing and distribution consultancy as well as being a full service award winning creative agency. Our aim is to help producers find the best route to market by adding value to their projects; we do this by creating key marketing materials as well as providing packaging consultation and script development. We then use those materials to broker direct deals with Sales Agents and Distributors.

After a degree in Marketing & Business Administration, Silvia has been involved in Audiovisual Distribution for more than 16 years. She started her career in Home Entertainment and at Marketing department of newspaper EL PAÍS, then runned Latido Films, one of the leading sales agencies of Spanish and Latin American films. Nowadays, Silvia acts as Marketing, Festival and International Distribution consultant in Madrid-based label Double i. She also coordinates Marketing & Distribution in a Film Industry Management Master at Carlos III University, and collaborates with Industry Talks at BIFF.

JANE WILLIAMS
DUBAI INTERNATION FILM FESTIVAL – DUBAI FILM CONNECTION UK

Currently Head of Studies of the Venice Biennale College-Cinema - a micro budget film initiative launched in 2012 to support the production of 3 micro budget films by filmmakers from around the world; and the Venice Biennale College Cinema-VR launched in 2017 to explore VR, immersive storytelling techniques and the production of 2 VR works. Since 2006 Jane also works for the Dubai International Film Festival and is responsible for establishing the Dubai Film Market and launching the Dubai Film Connection the only co-production platform in the Arab world.

SCOTT MACAULAY
IFP (INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER PROJECT) USA

Scott Macaulay is the Editor-in-Chief of Filmmaker Magazine, a print magazine and daily website devoted to American independent film. He has produced many award-winning features, including: Peter Sollett’s Raising Victor Vargas; Harmony Korine’s Gummo and julien donkey-boy; Alice Wu’s Saving Face; Tom Noonan’s Sundance Grand Jury Prize-winning What Happened Was; Jesse Peretz’s The Chateau; Bryan Barber’s Idlewild and James Ponsoldt’s Off the Black. Co-president of Forensic Films, he has been involved as a co-producer in many European productions, including Olivier Assayas’s Demonlover and Clean.

Tobias Pausinger was trained in international film production and financing in Ludwigsburg, LA and Rome and is a MBA graduate. He was responsible for the acquisition of various multi-award-winning films for international sales at Bavaria Film International and The Match Factory. TP consults film festivals and markets on content and strategic matters and advises film professionals and visual artists on development, financing and distribution. He founded the Art:Film initiative, a platform to nurture artistic cinema and visual arts and is a voting member of the EFA.

Previously International Sales Manager (Gemini Films) and Project Manager (Eurimages), she works as Creative Script Advisor for International development platforms and independent producers in Europe. She has written and directed three short films: "Intimisto" (Competition Venice IFF) "La Petite Fille" (Week’s Critics, Cannes) and "Fraternitas" (Brest European Short FF). Lucius Barre développe la distribution mondiale de films provenant de diverses cultures. Il a été le premier médiateur international de crossover pour Pedro Almódovar, Shinji Aoyama, Luc et Jean-Pierre Dardenne, Atom Egoyan, Zacharias Kunuk et Tom Tykwer ; il a aussi promu le travail des cinéastes bien établis comme Errol Morris, Alain Resnais, Carlos Saura, Hiroshi Teshigahara et Johnnie To. Gülin Ustun worked in major international advertising agencies and established their production department. In 2000, she joined Atlantik Film as international promotion, marketing and financing manager, while finalizing sales to several territories including UK, France and US. She was a line producer for international productions and worked as a consultant for project development and marketing. Currently, she is the head of Meetings on the Bridge, the co-production market at Istanbul FF. She is also the cinema program manager at Soho House İstanbul and an EAVE and TorinoFilmLab Script&Pitch alumni.

JOËLLE LEVIE

Over the last 30 years, Joëlle Levie worked in the film and television business. Since 2011, she is co-partner of a French company Online Film Financing — OLFFI which developed a website centralizing detailed information on public funds and production incentives (www.olffi.com). In the past, she worked at the Bank ING Belgium for the administration of the tax shelter mechanism. From 1988 to 2007, she occupied different management positions in Canada, at Telefilm Canada and was the director of the Film and Television department at SODEC.

OPEN DOORS – FESTIVAL DEL FILM LOCARNO SUISSE

Sophie Bourdon is the Head of the coproduction platform Open Doors at Locarno Festival, which not only highlights 8 projects every year from a specific region but also runs a 5-day Lab targeted at the new generation of producers. Since 2016, Open Doors has been focusing on South Asian countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives). Sophie has a 25-year experience in the film industry, in international sales and co-productions. She had been Chief Executive of ACE for 11 years after a 10-year career as a seller (including at MK2).

Katriel Schory
The Israel Film Fund ISRAEL

Katriel Schory a étudié à NYU Film School. En 1984, il crée sa société BELFILMS et produit plus de 150 films dont des longs métrages, des documentaires, des téléfilms et des co-productions internationales. En 1999, il est nommé directeur exécutif de The Israel Film Fund et a autorisé le soutien de 240 nouveaux longs métrages israéliens. Il a participé à des activités publiques volontaires et a été président de l’association Israel’s Film and Television Producers ; puis membre du Conseil national des arts et représentant des organisations internationales de The Israel Film Industry. Il donne également des conférences à l'Université de Tel-Aviv pour le département Film et T.V.

Jan Miller draws from over 25 years working in the international market place as consultant, connector, delegation lead and trainer, presenting one of the top Pitching and Concept Development workshops in the world.. Jan served as director for Strategic Partners for 15 years, and co-designed and presents Trans Atlantic Partners with the Erich Pommer Institut. She continues to work with key industry players around the world connecting projects and talent. She also serves on the Executive for the Women in View Board and is the Founding Chair of WIFT-AT.

Civil Engineer specialized in Cultural Management and Politics; with a Master in Cultural Management, Andrés worked as advisor of the Ministry of Culture in Colombia. Specialist in the direction of cultural projects in music, heritage, arts and cinematography, he worked as Projects Director of Proimagenes Colombia and Executive Director of the Bogota Audiovisual Market (BAM). Recently, he founded TRANSIT ENTERTAINMENT, specialized in film promotion and international consulting. He also is developing the third edition of the BIFF-Bogota International Film festival in October 2017.

Eurimages is the cultural support fund of the Council of Europe. Established in 1989, it currently numbers 37 of the 47 member states of the Strasbourg-based Organisation, plus Canada as Associate member. Eurimages promotes the European audiovisual industry by providing financial support to feature films, animations and documentaries produced in Europe. In doing so, it encourages co-operation between professionals established in different European countries.

Shoot the Book! is back at the Marché du Film for the fourth time. Publishers join forces to pitch 10 books selected for their adaptation potential by a jury formed of audiovisual professionals. The pitch session will be followed by a cocktail, an opportunity for producers and publishers to exchange information and discuss the books presented.
